BMW has already brought the iX to India, however, the next all-electric car we are expecting from them is the i4. It is an all-electric Gran Coupe and we are expecting the i4 eDrive40 version to be launched by mid-2022.

The Mini Cooper SE is the Mini that we all want in the future! It has those timeless looks and comes packed with the same level of performance that we have come to love from their petrol-powered hot hatches. The Mini Cooper SE is expected to cost around INR 50 lakh when launched later this year.

Ford India has promised to bring the Mustang Mach E to our shores. This all-electric SUV carries the same design elements as the pony car, however, under the hood you get a massive battery pack and a robust electric motor that allows it to go from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds! The Mustang Mach E is expected to be priced in the 60-80 lakh range.

Volvo has made it clear that their entire product lineup is going to be all-electric in the near future. The first one that we expect in India is the XC40 Recharge. It looks exactly like the current generation XC40; however, you get a powerful electric motor under the hood that delivers a range of over 400 km per charge!

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is the EV version of the S-Class. It isn’t built on the same platform but is an all-new one and it comes with a massive battery pack that is touted to have a range close to 800 km per charge.

The features onboard will be class-leading and will feature numerous functions that are in sync with autonomous driving technologies. The EQS is expected to be priced around the INR 2 Crore mark.

Hyundai just announced that they will be launching six EVs in the next few years. Some of those will be based on current platforms, while a host of new ones will spawn from a dedicated EV platform that they are developing. Amongst these are the Ioniq5, new Kona Electric and a range of products that include compacts, sedans and SUVs.
