Honda CB200x Offers Premium Looks And Smooth Ride; Know Specifications, Price, Features And More

One of the key highlights of CB200X is the fully digital liquid crystal meter which works well in both bright and dark conditions.

Mumbai: We tested the Honda crossover CB200X today on all weather condition roads of Mumbai. Honda has given this bike the identity of an urban explorer. Looks like ADV but is not meant to perform extreme adventure. Some adventure? Yes, bring it on.

My first impression of the bike is, Hello good looking!

I find the bike attractive. The face looks sharp with All LED lighting and Golden USD front forks. The long headlamps and tall wind screen protect your face from the harsh wind specially on high speed. Knuckles covers with LED winkers solve your daily purpose of safety. It’s got a long and comfortable split seat. The metal grab rail further enhances the ergonomics of the bike, and the ‘x’ shaped LED tail lamp looks neat.

The bike does look and feel urban for sure. One of the key highlights of CB200X is the fully digital liquid crystal meter which works well in both bright and dark conditions. Key information like Gear Position Indicator, Service Due Indicator and Battery Voltmeter is also available on the screen with 5-level adjustable brightness.

It’s got upright riding position, wide handlebars towards the rider which means more comfort. What I loved is how light the bike feels while maintaining the stability. Even with so much faring in the front, the handling seems easy and weightless despite weighing 147kg. The seat height is 810 mm, and the ground clearance is 167, which is sufficient to tackle potholes and rest your feet at the same time.

Safety is taken care by tubeless tough tread pattern tyres … 1 channel ABS AND DUAL PETAL DISK BRAKES, which is good for some soft roading skills. Front suspension – upside down front fork (USD), Rear suspension is Mono shock. And has a Diamond type steel frame for sturdy and comfortable ride.

The new Honda CB200X is powered by 184.4cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 17bhp at 8500rm and 16.1 Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox same as the Honda Hornet 2.0. So, it has a proven record .

There’s enough torque in the mid-range for easy city ride but low end is not that smooth. In the 1 and 2 gear the bike does hesitate a bit but as soon as you are in 4-5 gear, the ride is smooth and enjoyable enough for short weekend getaways.

The bike is available in 3 colours sports red, silver metallic and pearl black.

The bike looks and performs promising. The identity is confusing but feels like it can solve all purpose to an extent. Basically, a bike that looks premium for city rides and can lure you into short weekend getaways without much fuss.
