Honda Expands Road Safety Awareness To The Young Kids On Children’s Day

HMSI marked the occasion with the Be Safe, Be Smart initiative – a nation-wide road safety awareness drive to inculcate healthy road usage habits in young kids

New Delhi: On the occasion of Children’s day Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd expanded Road safety awareness to the young road users across India. 

HMSI marked the occasion with the Be Safe, Be Smart initiative – a nation-wide road safety awareness drive to inculcate healthy road usage habits in young kids.

As per the statement released by the company, HMSI’s road safety instructors spread road safety awareness to over 5,500 kids of 42 schools in 19 towns & cities across India. 

The list of towns and cities include Silchar, Imphal, Bhadohi, Etawah, Guwahati, Bhiwadi, Una, Jamshedpur, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Karnal, Ludhiana, Bhubaneswar, Thane, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Chennai & Trichy.

The road safety instructors reached out to these students through digital Honda Road Safety E-gurukul and in school training sessions the statement informed. 

The statement also stated various important topics like understanding traffic lights and signals, road safety signs and markings, safe pedestrian tips, road sharing manners, riding gear and seat belt, safe cycling tips, safe commuting in school bus that were touched upon as a part of the road safety initiative.

Speaking on this occasion, Prabhu Nagaraj, Senior Vice President – Brand and Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Children are real strength and foundation of the society. The young champs of today are not only road users but future two-wheeler riders as well. Therefore, we curated ‘Be Safe, Be Smart’ programme for kids to ensure their safety on roads. We are thrilled to see participation from school students who came ahead in big numbers. Their enthusiasm reflects their positive attitude in making roads safer for all. As a company, we thrive on our mission ‘Safety for everyone’ and will continue to design many more programmes for all in the future.”
