Mahindra XUV700 Launched, Price Starts at Rs 11.99 Lakh

Mahindra has launched its flagship model XUV700 from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level petrol version. The diesel range will start at INR 12.49 lakh for the base MX version. The SUV will be available in 5-seater and 7-seater options, but the Indian car maker has only announced the price of selected entry level 5-seater variants. Pricing of other variants will be revealed next month. 

At these aggressive pricing, Mahindra has shaken up the mid-size SUV market and have raised concerns for other competitors like MG Hector, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Alcazar 

The all new XUV700 is built on a new W601 monocoque platform and is larger and more premium than its predecessor XUV500 in every aspect. It is the first model in Mahindra’s portfolio to feature the new brand logo. The design looks borrowed from XUV500 but is definitely sharper, more sophisticated and power packed by next generation technology.

Visually, the car looks appealing with the extra-large C shaped DRL’S, vertical slats on the front grille. The fog lamps are positioned in the lower half of the bumper. The rear surrounds the new wraparound LED taillamps, sculpted tailgate and beefy bumper with silver cladding. The new SUV rides on the new sportier 17-inch or 18inch alloy wheels. 

For the first time in a Mahindra vehicle, the XUV700 will get a flush door handle setup.

On the inside Mahindra offers XUV700 with a very well laid out and premium cabin with larger and comfortable seats, premium upholstery and Mahindra’s fully connected car technology ‘Adrenox’ that feature built-in Alexa, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, power drive seat, two 10.25-inch screen, one each for the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system and Sony 3D surround sound system with 12 speakers. 

For safety, it introduces the advanced driver assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and auto emergency brake. The top range gets three drive modes – Zip, Zap and Zoom for different terrains and drive experience with All wheel drive as an option. 

Mahindra offers the new XUV700 with both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol version gets a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine that produces 200 PS at 5000 rpm and a peak torque of 380 Nm at 1750 to 3000 rpm. The engine is powered by either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. The diesel variants get a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk engine that produces 155 PS/185PS at 3750/3500 rpm and torque of 360/420 Nm at 1500 to 2800/1600 to 2800 rpm respectively.
