Mercedes-Benz Launches E53 4MATIC+ and E63 S 4MATIC in India, Prices Start at Rs 1.02 Crore

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has further expanded its AMG line-up in India with the launch of two new performance-based sedans -- the AMG E53 4MATIC at Rs 1.02 crore and the AMG E63 S 4MATIC at Rs 1.70 crore.

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has further expanded its AMG line-up in India with the launch of two new performance-based sedans — the AMG E53 4MATIC at Rs 1.02 crore and the AMG E63 S 4MATIC at Rs 1.70 crore (all ex-showroom, pan India). The additions will join existing the fleet of 11 AMG products in India.

The AMG E53 gets a 3-litre six-cylinder inline engine with exhaust gas turbocharger and electric additional compressor that generate 429bhp/520Nm, and with Mercedes’ EQ boost mild hybrid system an additional 21bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a nine-speed gear box.

The AMG E63 gets a 4-litre V8 bi-turbo engine that churns out 612bhp and 850Nm torque. It gets an all-wheel-drive system and can switch to rear wheel-drive by activating the ‘Race’ mode and switching off ESP.

AMG E53 can do 0-100 kmph in 4.5 seconds, while the E63 can do the same in 3.4 seconds.

The styling of both models is quite similar. Both feature the signature Panamericana grille at the front, come with a pair of LED tail lamps, quad LED exhaust outlets and a gloss back finish to the diffusers at the bottom of the rear bumper. The headlamps on both cars are adaptive LEDs with a single LED eye-bow DRL.

The interior of AMG models borrow some design from the standard E-class, but get a widescreen cockpit, AMG-specific steering wheel featuring AMG buttons with haptic feedback, aluminium paddle-shifter, and AMG specific graphics for the instrument cluster. The seats are wrapped in Nappa leather and offer good lateral support for high comfort on long journeys.

Both come with a set of 19-inch alloy wheels with the option of upgrading to a set of 20-inches.

The AMG’s are equipped with the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience electronic architecture (MBUX), offering the latest infotainment feature, connected vehicle technologies and the ‘Hey Mercedes’ virtual assistant.

The E53 comes with five drive programs – slippery, comfort, sport, sport+, individual, whereas the E63 model gets an additional drive program for ‘Race’. AMG E63 also offers high performance brake system with brake disc internally ventilated and perforated.
