BBL 10: Chris Lynn, Tanveer Sangha big omissions as Team of the Tournament announced

Melbourne Stars saw the maximum representation with all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, leg spinner Adam Zampa, who made the team while Marcus Stoinis was named the X-factor substitute.

The Big Bash League(BBL) on Thursday (January 28) announced the Team of th Tournament for the BBL 2020-21 season. However, there was severe criticism of the team as the third-highest run-scorer Chris Lynn and the impressive Tanveer Sangha were not included in the squad.

Melbourne Stars saw the maximum representation with all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, leg spinner Adam Zampa, who made the team while Marcus Stoinis was named the X-factor substitute.

Sydney Sixers Wicket Keeper Josh Philipe and Sydney Thunders’ Alex Hales were selected as the opening batsmen. Hales and Philipe are the top two run-scorers in the competition.

Ben Mcdermott of the Hobart Hurricanes and Colin Munro of the Perth Scorchers are the next players on the list with both of them having amassed more than 400 runs. Daniel Christian was chosen for the No. 6 role

Afghan leggie Rashid Khan was the second leg spinner on the team apart from Zampa. The three remaining places all went to right arm pacers in Mark Steketee, Wes Agar, and Jhye Richardson.

The BBL’s group stage came to a finish on Tuesday (January 26) after 56 matches. Sixers and Scorchers went as the top two teams in the groups which means they will have another chance to qualify for the finals should they lose the opening playoff match.

The Thunders finished third while Heats and Adelaide Strikers were the final two teams to qualify for the play-offs.
