With this win, India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. India folded West Indies for a paltry 176 and then chased down the target in 28 overs to beat visitors by six wickets. Chasing 177, India got off to a great start as the side reached 67 without losing a wicket in the first 10 overs.

However, Alzarri Joseph struck in quick successions as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli departed as India reached close to 100. India was right on track but Akeal Hosein dismissed Ishan Kishan in the 17th over before Joseph removed Rishabh Pant by running him out as hosts got reduced to 116/4.

However, the asking rate was so low that Suryakumar Yadav (34) and Deepak Hooda (26) took India over the line quite comfortably.
