New Delhi: Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder for the Chennai Super Kings for nearly a decade, has been unfollowed by the franchise on Instagram. Jadeja has also been ruled out of the upcoming IPL owing to a damaged rib sustained during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 4.

“Ravindra Jadeja suffered a bruised rib and was ruled out of the Chennai Super Kings’ match against the Delhi Capitals on Sunday. He was being monitored, and based on medical advice, he has been ruled out for the remainder of the IPL season” CSK issued an official statement.

The all-rounder’s sudden departure and being unfollowed sparked rumours of a rift with the franchise.

This has led to speculations on social media that Jadeja left the season abruptly because of some issues with the team.

Jadeja’s IPL 2022 season has been a roller coaster ride. Months before, CSK retained Jadeja for 16 crores, and two days before the event, it was stated that MS Dhoni had handed over CSK’s leadership to Jadeja.

However, the all-lack rounder of captaincy expertise was evident, as he frequently relied on Dhoni for several decisions, such as field placements, etc. And the fact that defending champions CSK had lost the first five matches of the competition, along with a significant drop in Jadeja’s form with the bat and ball, led to an unavoidable decision – Jadeja relinquishing captaincy to Dhoni.
