New Delhi: Team India skipper Virat Kohli and his side finally began their training in Southampton on Wednesday, ahead of his side’s much-anticipated World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

Back on June 3, the Indian contingent landed in UK ahead of the much-awaited WTC 2021 final this month.

Ahead of the final thought, the Indian squad will have approximately a week’s time to train and get used to the local conditions.

On Wednesday, Virat Kohli took to his social media handles and shared a jolly photograph from India’s training camp. The photo also had young opener Shubman Gill and veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara in it too.

“The sun brings out smiles @RealShubmanGill @cheteshwar1,” Kohli captioned his post on Twitter.

Team India and New Zealand are set to lock horns in the finals of WTC at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton, starting June 18, while the Indian women’s cricket team will being their ventures against England with a one-off Test from June 16.

After the conclusion of the WTC final, Virat Kohli’s Team India will take on hosts England in a five-match Test series. Meanwhile, the women’s team are set to take on England in three ODIs beginning June 27 with the matches slated to be played in Bristol, Taunton, and Worcester.

Both sides will then square face-off in three T20Is, starting July 9 and the three matches will be played at Northampton, Hove, and Chelmsford.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson’s New Zealand are already in the UK and taking on England in a two-match Test series ahead of the WTC final.
