New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) 2021. Eligible candidates can check their scores at neet.nta.nic.in. Earlier, the NTA had distributed the results through email.
Three students Mrinal Kutteri from Telangana, Tanmay Gupta from Delhi and Karthika G Nair from Maharashtra secured All India Rank 1 in NEET UG 2021 with 720 marks, said NTA.
Karthika G Nair has emerged as the topper in girls with 720 out of 720 marks.
A tie-breaking formula will be used at the counselling stage for joint rank holders, an NTA official said. The Ministry of Education’s testing agency has not used the tie-breaking formula this year for the announcement of ranks.
The fifth rank has also been shared by 12 candidates while 21 candidates have shared the 19th rank.
Eight transgender candidates have also cleared the examination.
The results for NEET, the entrance test for undergraduate medical courses, were announced after the Supreme Court of India stayed a Bombay High Court judgement ordering fresh exams for two candidates.
The NTA conducted the entrance exam in September at several test centres across the country and abroad. This year, at least 16 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, which took place on September 12.
NEET 2021 was originally scheduled for August 1, but the entrance exam was postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19.
