New Delhi: The prestigious 67th National Film Awards, organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals, were given on Monday (October 25). The award function will honour the Indian films from the year of 2019. Chhichhore had won the National Award for the Best Hindi Film of 2019 and the team was honoured at the ceremony. Sajid Nadiadwala and director Nitesh Tiwari attended the event and received the honour in front of the prestigious guests.
Nitesh Tiwari and Sajid Nadiadwala arrived at the National Film Awards’ ceremony in Delhi. Nitesh remembered the film’s lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput on the occasion and dedicated the award to him. He said, “Sushant was an integral part of the film, and he will continue to be so. We are very proud. I am sure he will be proud too.”
“We are dedicating this award to him,” Sajid added.
For the unversed, Sushant was seen as ‘Anni’ in the film alongside Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma in the lead roles. It was his last on screen outing before his untimely demise in June 2020. Chhichhore had received positive reviews from the critics as well as audiences when it was released back in 2019 and it won many awards as well.
