New Delhi: Condolences poured in over the death of Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia, who was peacefully passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday morning. Akshay, 53, shared a statement on Twitter and paid tributes to his mother, who was in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hiranandani Hospital. The cause of her death is not yet known.
On Monday, Kumar flew back to the country from the United Kingdom after his mother was admitted to a hospital.
“She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti,” the actor tweeted.
Several actors and public figures took to Twitter to condole the demise.
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh expressed his condolences on Twitter. “Deepest condolences to you and the family sir,” he wrote
“My deepest & most sincere condolences! May you navigate this phase and the years ahead with love & strength,” said actor and film-maker Pooja Bhatt.
Vindu Dara Singh, who has been Akshay’s co-actor in several movies, including Housefull, Kambakkht Ishq and Joker, offered prayers. “Prayers for your strong maa prah, she will always be blessing us from the heavens,” he tweeted.
Actor Renuka Sahane wrote, “Deepest condolences to you and your family for this inconsolable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”
Television actor Hiten Taejwani wrote, “Om Shanti Folded hands..May her soul rest in peace.” TV actor Nandish Singh Sandhu and film producer Nikkhil Advani also extended their condolences.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta said, “Heartfelt condolences and prayers for strength to your family and you.”
