As Cinema Reopens in Kashmir, A Lookback At Movies Shot In Kashmir In Past

With the reopening of the cinemas, Kashmiris are seeing renewed hope in the revival of the near-dead film industry.

Since the advent of cinema in India, the valley of Kashmir has been a refuge for filmmakers across the country. From the lush green mountains to the snowy weather, every bit of Kashmir has served as the perfect location for various pictures.

With the reopening of the cinemas, Kashmiris are seeing renewed hope in the revival of the near-dead film industry. Tens of films have been made here with their plots based on the Kashmir conflict itself. These movies include Uri, Mission Kashmir, Haidar, Tahaan, Raazi, and LOC Kargil. Besides these, the valley has also been a set for tens of films and OTT shows including romantic tales like Fitoor and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
