New Delhi: Kollywood actor Theepetti Ganesan died in Madurai on Monday (March 22) due to ill health, as per reports.
Theepetti was known for his comedy roles. He had acted in films like, ‘Billa 2’, ‘Themerku Paruvakkatru’, ‘Neerparavi’, ‘Kanne Kalaimane’, ‘Kolamau Kokila’, ‘Ustad Hotel’, ‘Renigunta’ among others. Director R. Seenu Ramasamy expressed grief on the actor’s demise.
He tweeted, ”I was shocked to hear the news of the death of Thampi Ganesan, the best actor who acted in my films, at the Rajaji Government Hospital in Madurai due to ill health”. Few months ago Ganesan had been spotted working at a tiffin shop.

Multiple reports gave the impression that he was facing a financial crisis. But Ganesan denied the reports and stated that he was working at the tiffin shop because he loves cooking and working at the shop.
Later he stated that he was indeed dealing with financial problems and seeked help from celebrities like Thala Ajith and Vijay Sethupathi. Ganesan is survived by his wife and two children. More details regarding the last rites and funeral are expected soon.
