New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India on Wednesday (February 3) posted a statement about the farmers’ protest on Twitter.
The statement reads that the new farm laws against which the farmers have been protesting will ‘give expanded market access and greater flexibility’ to them. It further states, ‘vested interest groups are trying to enforce their agenda these protests’. After the statement, several Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, Suniel Shetty, Ekta Kapoor and Kailash Kher came out in support of the government.

This comes after international star Rihanna, climate activist Greta Thunberg and others spoke in favour of the farmers’ protest.
