New Delhi: Karan Johar caught himself up in a controversy yet again as he talked about the ongoing debate of Bollywood films vs regional films. Recently in an interview, Karan elaborated on how he thought if KGF was made in Bollywood, it would have been ‘lynched’ by the critics.
In an interview with Film Companion, Karan added that while he was reading the reviews of KGF 2, he realized how filmmakers are not given any leeway in Hindi films and then they are accused of trying to be like somebody else.
Karan added “we are living a dual existence and we have to stop.”
KGF, the mega-action franchise that starred the rocking star Yash, created a havoc at the box-office by setting the cash registers ringing. The movie grossed more than 400 crores at the box-office.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar is busy promoting Dharma Production’s upcoming film, JugJugg Jeeyo, starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
The filmmaker is also busy directing his next, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
