New Delhi: Ranveer Singh rings in his 37th birthday today. The powerhouse actor has established a niche for himself in the world of Hindi films. Known for infectious energy and charm, the Jayeshbhai Jordaar star is easily among the most versatile actors of his generation.

To mark the occasion of his birthday today, take a look at the actor’s top performances.

1. Band Baaja Baaraat (2010)

Ranveer Singh made his Bollywood debut with the romantic comedy, Band Baaja Baraat, co-starring Anushka Sharma. The movie was helmed by director Maneesh Sharma and was bankrolled by Yash Raj Films.

Ranveer played Bittoo Sharma, a wedding planner, who falls in love with her co-worker Shruti (Anushka Sharma). The film was a hit at the box office and also won him the ‘Filmfare Best Actor – Debut Male’ award for his performance.

2. Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013)

The 37-year-old actor played the role of a Gujarati lover boy, who belongs to a family of goons, who later falls in love with a girl from a rival gang (Deepika Padukone).

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ram-Leela marked the first on-screen collaboration of Ranveer and Deepika with the five-time National Film Award winner director.

The romantic drama was declared a super hit and was the actor’s first film to enter the 100 crore club.

3. Bajirao Mastani (2015)

After the stellar success of Ram-Leela, Ranveer once again collaborated with Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, this time for a romantic action periodic film Bajirao Mastani.

Ranveer portrayed the role of heroic Peshwa Bajirao, married to Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra), who falls in love with Mastani (Deepika Padukone), a warrior princess from the other community.

The film went on to collect over Rs 300 crore worldwide and earned Ranveer several awards including the ‘IIFA and Filmfare Best Actor -Male Award’ for his performance.

4. Padmaavat (2018)

For the first time in his career, the Gully Boy actor portrayed the negative character of Alauddin Khalji, a ruthless Mughal emperor, in Bhansali’s mega-budgeted period action film.

Padmaavat became Ranveer’s highest-grossing film of his career, which collected over Rs 500 crores at the box office. The 83 actor was awarded the ‘IIFA and Filmfare Best Actor – Male’ award for his performance.

5. Simmba (2018)

Ranveer Singh marked his entry into director Rohit Shetty’s cop universe as Inspector Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba, a corrupt cop, whose life takes an unusual turn when he decides to avenge a woman who was assaulted by some local gangsters.

The film was declared a blockbuster hit and his energetic performance gathered a lot of appreciation from the audience.

On the work front, Ranveer will soon be seen in Rohit Shetty’s comedy film Cirkus with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde. He will next be seen in Karan Johar’s next romantic film Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahaani with Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
