Washington (US) : HBO Max released the first trailer from the upcoming ‘Game of Thrones” prequel ‘House of the Dragon’. The glimpse featured a voiceover by Actor Matt Smith as the series lead Prince Daemon Targaryen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the footage was unveiled at the end of WarnerMedia’s HBO Max European launch event. In a dark and brooding minute-long footage, Smith can be heard saying “Gods. Kings. Fire. Blood”, adding, “Dreams didn’t make us king … dragons did”.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire and Blood’, the prequel has been set 200 years before the events of the series ‘Game of Thrones’. The show will be released in 2022, unfolding the events and stories of the House Targaryen. New cast members for the series were also announced alongside the trailer. The cast includes Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon, John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, other exclusive snippets unveiled during the launch event included the upcoming third season of ‘Succession’ and John Cena’s superhero series ‘Peacemaker’. The much-anticipated 10-part revival series of Sex and the City, ‘And Just Like That’, was also announced to be launching in December.
