Malayalam Actor Rizabawa Dies at 54, Mollywood Mourns The Loss

New Delhi: Popular Malayalam actor Rizabawa on Monday died at age of 54. The actor, who had been undergoing treatment for renal diseases, breathed his last at a hospital in Cochin on the afternoon of September 13.

Rizabawa was known for his roles as villain in the Malayalam movies. In a career spanning over three decades, Rizabawa acted in over 120 movies.

Some of his most famous and memorable antagonist performances on screen include his role as John Honai and the noted film In Harihar Nagar, which was released in the year 1990.

Rizabawa has also acted in television serials and some of his films include Irikku MD Akathundu, Vakkeel Vasudev, Thiruthalvaadi, and Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji.

Padmashree Awardee Sunitha Krishnan condoled the demise of the actor saying, “Shocked and pained to hear the news of untimely demise of actor #Rizabawa this afternoon. An actor who did not get his due. A personal loss of an amazing friend and confidant. Miss you a lot Ekka!”

Mollywood actor Innocent said, “Rizabawa was not just an expert in portraying villain roles. He was a good actor who had the capability to portray any role with perfection on screen. He was also a good human being. Mollywood has lost a great actor and human being.”
