NINASAM Manju of Mookha Hakki film fame has taken on a new project and has successfully completed the same. The film is titled Kanneri and is based on a true incident. And the first look of the film was released by reputed filmmaker Nagathihalli Chandrashekar.
Kanneri is a woman-centric film and the story that it is based on is a rather strong one. The story is set in Coorg and is inspired from the Diddalli incident. Along with this, a thread from Ksheera Sagara’s novel Jenu Akashada Aramane has loosely lent inspiration to the film. Kotiganahalli Ramaiah has written the storyline, while the screenplay and direction has been taken up by Ninasam Manju.
The film is a take on what the people, who envision and live their lives in the lap of nature, go through once they are evicted from that region. It narrates a tale of the horrors that the women of that group undergo and the major turn that their lives take.
Archana Madhusudan plays the protagonist, the movie also features Anita Bhat, Arun Sagar, Karisubbu and MK Math in prominent roles.
The film has been shot realistically and captured in places like Bangalore, HD Kote and Kolar. Ganesh Hegde has done the cinematography while Manikanth Kadri has lent music and Sachin Nayak is the editor of the film. The film is now in the post-production stage and the first look of the film has created a huge buzz.
