Mumbai: Veteran actor Saira Banu on Monday (June 7) shared a health update on her husband and actor Dilip Kumar along with a picture.

In the picture, Kumar can be seen resting in the hospital while Saira was by his side.

She also wrote an open letter to update everyone on Dilip Kumar’s health and urged fans not to believe in rumours surrounding her husband.

“Past few days my beloved husband, Yousuf Khan, has been unwell and recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai. Through this note, I want to thank all of you for keeping him in your prayers and for all the love and affection. My husband, my kohinoor, Dilip Kumar Sahab’s health is stable and doctors have assured me that he should be discharged soon,” she penned.

Adding, ”I urge you to not believe in rumors. While I ask you to pray for Sahab’s I am praying that the Almighty keep all of you safe and healthy during this pandemic. Sincerely, Saira Banu Khan.”

Meanwhile veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was admitted to a hospital here after experiencing episodes of breathlessness, is currently on oxygen support and stable, his family shared in an update on the actor’s official Twitter handle on Monday (June 7).

”Dilip Saab is on oxygen support – not on ventilator. He is stable. Waiting for few test results to perform pleural aspiration : Dr Jalil Parkar, chest specialist treating Saab,” the latest update on Kumar’s Twitter handle read.

Dilip Kumar has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion. According to Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating the actor at Mumbai’s PD Hinduja Hospital, ”Actor Dilip Kumar has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion and kept on oxygen support in ICU ward. His condition is stable”.

According to Parker, bilateral pleural effusion refers to the collection of fluid in the thin cavity which acts as a buffer between the lung and inner chest wall.
