Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Jersey’ Gets A New Release Date

Jersey was earlier scheduled to be released on December 31, 2021, but got postponed due to the Omicron scare.

Mumbai (Maharashtra): After facing several delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur-starrer ‘Jersey’ will now release in theatres on April 14. Helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, ‘Jersey’ is a Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu hit of the same name.

Jersey was earlier scheduled to be released on December 31, 2021, but got postponed due to the Omicron scare. Actor Pankaj Kapur is also a part of the film, which is produced by Dil Raju, S Naga Vamsi and Aman Gill.

The trailer opens with Shahid Kapoor, who used to be a popular cricketer once and is currently jobless and doing nothing, asking his wife for some money, after which she denies.

He then takes his son to his cricket training when the kid asks him to give him a jersey as a gift on his next birthday. Shahid, who is “struggling to make ends meet and wants to fulfill his child’s wish” has to now struggles to face his “heroic past.”

Determined to fulfil his son’s wish, Kapoor approaches his coach played by his father Pankaj Kapur and decides to re-enter the game in his thirties.
