New Delhi: A year back on June 14, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, left for the heavenly abode. Whether he committed suicide or was murdered is still a mystery.

Sushant was found dead at his residence in Mumbai. His father KK Singh filed an FIR accusing Sushant’s girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty of abetting suicide. He also accused her of money laundering.

The case was investigated by five agencies- Mumbai Police, Bihar Police, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Enforcement Department (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

CBI has not yet released the results of its investigation.

Born on 21 January 1986 in Patna, Bihar, Sushant Singh Rajput, had enrolled for Engineering in Delhi Technological University, but dropped out to pursue acting.

He got his first big break with Ekta Kapoor’s TV serial Pavitra Rishta. Ankita Lokhande was paired opposite him. His performance as the lead character Manav Deshmukh made him a household name.

In 2013, he made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che also starring Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh and Amrita Puri.

SSR was also seen in Shuddh Desi Romance, Byomkesh Bakshy! and PK. His career took a turn when the sports biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story was released. The film became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2016.

Later he was seen in Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta opposite Kriti Sanon and Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath opposite debutant Sara Ali Khan.

In 2019, the actor was seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore along with Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma in the lead roles.

SSR’s last film Dil Bechara was released on an online streaming platform due to the lockdown. On his death anniversary, fans are remembering the late actor on Twitter.
