An actress, entrepreneur and a television presenter, Sunny Leone celebrates her 41st birthday today. She was born as Karenjit Kaur Vohra into a Sikh family in Ontario, Canada. A nerdy teenager, she resided in a society dominated by a white neighbourhood.

As a sneaky teenager, she came across a DVD of an adult movie at home. She began watching the video, but quickly turned it off in the fear of getting caught. When she was 19, she watched a porn movie with her friends, and found it ‘cool’ how young people play games and walk naked in a house.

While she was studying medicine, she worked at a bakery and a tax and retirement firm to earn some extra pocket money. A few months into it, she received an offer from a contractor for a feature in an adult magazine. In 2001, she became the first Indian to appear in the cover of Penthouse Magazine. She got paid a lump sum amount, and realised that this career path would fetch her money.

Her parents weren’t accepting of her decision, but she entered the industry nonetheless. Soon modelling assignments poured in, and she got an offer to make porn movies. She agreed to do porn movies, considering the money it fetches. She then chose the name Sunny for herself, and the ex-editor of Penthouse magazine suggested she add Leone to her name.

In 2011, she fell in love with Daniel Weber, and they did some adult movies together exclusively. Soon they were married and she came to India to participate in Bigg Boss. Her Bollywood career kick-started then.

Apart from her celebrity life, she has been a doting mother to her three children Nisha Kaur Weber, Asher Singh Weber, and Noah Singh Weber. She and her husband Weber adopted Nisha in 2017, when she was 21 months old. In 2018, they welcomed twin boys via surrogacy. Earlier in an interview with Hindustan Times, Sunny Leone reflected on how she gets home early to spend quality time with her children. Moreover, her social media posts with her children are enough proof that she is truly enjoying motherhood.
