New Delhi: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been one of Indian televisions’ most loved shows. The show which started back in 2008, has aired more than 3,400 episodes over the years.
If reports are to be believed, Shailesh Lodha, who plays the titular character in the show, has decided to step away from the televised series. According to a report by a leading entertainment daily, the actor has not been shooting for the TMKOC for the past one month.
The report also added that he is unable to explore other opportunities due to the exclusivity factor.
“Shailesh feels that his character has been lost among the ensemble. While he gave his dates, there’s not much for him to do. Also, now that the pandemic is over, his kavi sammelans have again started and he’s quite busy. He recently informed the production house that he wouldn’t like to continue. Shailesh has now stopped coming for shoots and is sticking to his ground,” reported ETimes.
“He has turned down multiple offers in recent times and now he doesn’t want to waste other opportunities that keep coming his way. The production house is trying its best to convince Shailesh to stay back but looks like the seasoned actor and well-known poet has already made up his mind,” the report added.
No official statement has been released by the production house or the actor on the matter yet.
