Fans are in awe of actor Kangana Ranaut’s hard-hitting performance as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the trailer of Thalaivi.

New Delhi: Fans are in awe of actor Kangana Ranaut’s hard-hitting performance as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the trailer of Thalaivi.

The trailer which was released on the occasion of Kangana’s 34th birthday on Tuesday (March 23) is nothing short of an epic biopic on the life journey of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Released in Tamil, the trailer showcases the journey of Kangana as Jayalalithaa from being an actor to a revolutionary leader.

Kangana’s performance in the different phases of Jayalalithaa’s life will give you goosebumps as she gets into the skin of the character. The YouTube description of the trailer reads, ”The superstar heroine, the queen of romance and the one who rose to power despite a patriarchal political system. The story we all know, the life story we don’t know”.

Calling Kangana as the ‘most talented actress of our generation’, South star Samantha Akkineni showered praises on Kangana. She wrote, ”#ThalaiviTrailer is outstanding @KanganaTeam You are the bravest , most daring and indisputably the most talented actress of our generation… #Vijay sir goosebumps stuff just goosebumps stuff.. Can’t wait to witness this magic in the theatre”.

Kangana is seen bringing to life the extraordinary personality of the woman who once was an actress and later took over the political scenario in the state of Tamil Nadu. Watch the trailer here.

While the trailer shows Kangana dancing as Jayalalithaa and performing as an actress, it also shows the ups and downs of the political stalwart’s life. Viewers get to witness the bond between Jayalalithaa and MG Ramachandran (MGR). After the unfortunate death of MGR, she won people’s hearts with her work and stood out as an independent leader.

Directed by AL Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh, the film’s cast includes Arvind Swami, Nassar, Bhagyashree, Samuthrakani in pivotal roles. The biopic will be released in multiple languages including Hindi and Tamil. Thalaivi will release theatrically on April 23, 2021.
