Coronavirus Vaccination Update: Over 21.3 Cr doses administered till May 30

New Delhi: India has so far administered more than 21.3 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccine, the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare showed on Monday.

New Delhi: India has so far administered more than 21.3 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccine, the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare showed on Monday. A total of 21,31,54,129 doses were given till 7 am on May 31, as per the data. Out of these, 10,18,076 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

The liberalised and accelerated phase-3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination has come into force from May 1, 2021. Registration for the newly eligible population groups had commenced on April 28, 2021. The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country had crossed 200 million on May 14.

Out of the 10,18,076 doses administered in the last 24 hours, 9,33,280 people received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 84,796 people got their second dose of the vaccine.

State wise, Maharashtra is still leading the number of COVID-19 jabs in the states with 1,77,74,757 people receiving their first dose of the vaccine. Meanwhile in Rajasthan, 1,68,61,567 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, as per official data.

India’s COVID-19 tally today

India reports lowest daily new cases of 1.52 lakh in 50 days today. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country reported 1,52,734 new COVID-19 cases on Monday (May 31). 

Furthermore, 2,38,022 discharges were reported in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry. With this, the total discharges in the country went up to 2,56,92,342.

Meanwhile, India also reported more than 3,100 deaths due to COVID-19. On Monday, the country clocked 3,128 deaths in the last 24 hours. The new COVID-19 cases pushed the country’s total tally to 2,80,47,534.

On the active caseload front, India witnessed a significant dip in numbers from yesterday. While the nation reported 21,14,508 active cases on Sunday, 20,26,092 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
