International Yoga Day 2022: Yoga Practitioner Tarandeep Kaur Bindra Demonstrates ‘Asanas’

Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that helps to boost one’s mental and social well-being. It’s the key to achieving inner serenity and harmony. The word ‘yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, which symbolizes the union of body and consciousness. 

Yoga is more than just the ‘Asanas’. It is a means of unlocking infinite possibilities and power. The high benefits of Yoga have made it a popular practice all over the world. 

It was the vision and effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that was recognized by the United Nations, after which June 21 was declared as the International Day for Yoga. This has helped India accomplish the goal of practicing yoga and taking it to the masses, cutting across the barriers of age, race, gender, and divisions. 

On May 29, the Prime Minister announced the theme for the International Day of Yoga in his “Mann Ki Baat” address as ‘Yoga for Humanity’. The agenda behind keeping this was simple, during the pandemic when we were all suffering from breathing issues Yoga was the cure key for many.
