1 Killed, 4 Missing In Flash Flood Triggered Due To Cloud Burst

Four people have been washed away in a flash flood that struck Manikaran valley of Kullu district due to heavy rainfall triggered by a cloud burst.

New Delhi: As many as four people have been washed away in a flash flood on Wednesday that struck Manikaran valley of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall triggered by a cloud burst.

Some rescue teams were rushed for help as some people were stuck midway due to landslides, the senior State Disaster Management official said, as reported by PTI.

So far, four to six people have been missing following the cloud burst at Chojh village in Challal panchayat at around 6 am. At least five cattle have also been washed away in the flash floods, he added citing information from the Kullu District Emergency Operations Centre.

A landslide on the outskirts of Shimla city left a woman dead and two others critically injured on Wednesday, a senior state disaster management official said. Shimla district emergency operations centre (DEOC) said the incident occurred at Dhalli. The injured have been admitted to a hospital here.
