17 School Girls Drugged, Molested By School Staff In UP’s Muzaffarnagar; SHO Removed For Negligence

Two staff of a private school were booked for alleged attempt to rape while a police officer has been withdrawn from field duty due to inaction in the matter.

New Delhi: In a shocking event in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district, 17 school girls were allegedly molested after being served food laced with sedatives in two private schools of the Purkazi area of Muzaffarnagar area.

School students who are all students of Class 10, were called on the pretext of medical examination by two school managers where they were allegedly served spiked khichdi and water on November 18.

The students have filed an FIR against the two school managers of GGS International School and one of Surya Dev Public School. The families of the victims alleged that even after the police received information about the incident, they were reluctant to take any action against the school staff.

The girls were threatened with dire consequences and kept silent. A few students, later narrated the whole incident to their parents and the village pradhan approached the SSP.

A local MLA had to intervene and the FIR was lodged in the incident. District police chief Abhishek Yadav said a case was registered after the two families filed a complaint following the intervention of local BJP MLA Pramod Utwal. He said Purkazi police station SHO VK Singh has been transferred to the police line for alleged negligence of duty in the matter.

An FIR has been registered in Muzaffarnagar against Bhopa, and Arjun Singh, the operator of GGS International School Purkazi and Yogesh Kumar, the operator of Surya Dev Public School.

The SSP said a case against the two school managers have been registered under sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence) 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant section of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly sexually harassed and filmed by a youth in a village here, police said. A case has been registered against absconding accused Mohsin under Bhopa Police Station area of the district on Sunday, they said. In neighbouring Shamli district also police has arrested a youth Shoeb for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl in a village under Kairana Police Station area. According to Station House Officer Premvir Singh Rana, a case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of victim’s family two days ago.

Woman found hanging in house, family alleges dowry killing

A 22-year-old woman was found hanging from the ceiling of a house in Mansurpur area in the district, police said. Nirmesh, wife of Anuj Kumar, was found hanging at her in-laws’ house at Sohjanitagan village on Sunday evening. The body has been sent for post mortem and further investigations are on, the police said. Meanwhile, the woman’s family has alleged that she had been killed for dowry by her in-laws.
