New Delhi: A two-month-old baby girl was found dead inside a microwave oven in the Chirag Dilli area of south Delhi on Monday.
Police said that they received a call around 5 pm on Monday about the incident. The infant, wrapped in a cloth, was recovered from the oven and rushed to a hospital by family members.
Benita Mary Jaiker, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said, “The police got the information about the death of the baby at around 5 pm and all possible angles are being examined.”
“The infant’s parents, Gulshan Kaushik and Dimple Kaushik, are being interrogated at the police station and further investigation is underway, Jaiker added.
“After the post-mortem report, the facts about the incident will be clearer,” she said.
A case of murder has been registered against unknown persons as of now.
Officers aware of the case details informed that a neighbour has alleged that the body was found in the oven.
Ananya was born in January this year and her mother Dimple Kaushik, reportedly, had been upset since then. She even fought with her husband over her birth.
