‘26/11 UPA Reaction Weak’: Manish Tiwari Stirs The Congress Cauldron In New Book

In an excerpt from the book, Manish Tewari has questioned the actions taken by the Congress-led UPA government during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

CONGRESS MP Manish Tewari on Tuesday gave a small glimpse of his book ’10 Flash Points; 20 Years – National Security Situations that Impacted India’, but, soon after he announced his book it was marred with controversy.

In an excerpt from the book, Manish Tewari has questioned the actions taken by the Congress-led UPA government during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Tewari has written that “restrain is not a sign of strength” and that India should have “actioned a kinetic response”. This opened up the pandora’s box with sharp reactions coming in from the BJP agreeing with Manish Tewari questioning the inaction in 2006 during the Manmohan Singh government.

The BJP was quick to attack Congress for taking the issue of national security lightly but, what led to Manish Tewari penning this down? Tewari hasn’t been shy in voicing his dissent in the recent infighting in Punjab and raised objections to the manner in which Captain Amarinder Singh was dropped to please PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, calling it “chaos and anarchy”.

So is this an attempt of Tewari to make his displeasure with the Congress top brass loud and clear? Whatever may be the reason, Manish Tewari has ensured his book registers with even his critics ahead of its launch.
