New Delhi: India reports 2,64,202 fresh cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours. Positive cases today are 6.7 per cent are higher than yesterday’s figure when 2,47,417 cases were reported across the country.
The daily positivity rate in the country is now 14.78 per cent. Around 315 Covid-19 patients lost lives in last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 485350, as reported by Union Health Ministry. Death rate remains at 1.33 per cent.
Apart from fresh cases of covid-19 India also reports as many as 1,09,345 recoveries. Meanwhile, India’s current active cases stands now at 12,72,073. There have been 5,753 confirmed cases of Omicron so far rising from 5,488 cases of Omicron variant as reported yesterday. Total of 265 more omicron cases were reported in last 24 hours.
India’s vaccination drive has been at a good pace since it started on January 16, 2021, as the ground level health care workers, ASHA workers, doctors, medical staff have made it possible to administer 1,55,39,81,819 doses till January 14, 2022. Over 15.17 crore balance Covid-19 vaccine doses are available with the States/UTs to be administered, as per the Union Health Ministry.
In last 24 hours 73,08,669 more Covid-19 vaccines were administered, as mentioned on Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s website.
Meanwhile center has urged all the citizens of the country to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible so that the fight against the covid-19 can be fought with good immunity and better chances of no casualties in future.
