New Delhi: A five-member team of NCB will proceed to Mumbai from Delhi tomorrow to investigate the allegations of corruption made by Prabhakar Sail, a witness in the drugs-on-cruise matter of Mumbai, on the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, reported ANI citing its sources.
The team will consist of NCB deputy director general (DDG) northern region Gyaneshwar Singh, along with 4 other NCB officers, reported ANI.
The NCB officials will visit Mumbai in connection to the vigilance inquiry into the allegations made by Sail in the cruise drugs case of an extortion bid of Rs 25 crore by some agency officials, including the Mumbai zonal director, and others for letting off Aryan Khan.
Meanwhile, Sameer Wankhede, who has been accused of payoff in the drugs case is in Delhi at the moment and visited the agency’s headquarters on Tuesday afternoon. Reportedly, the Mumbai zonal director spent about two hours at the Delhi headquarters.
