Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will be on two-day visit to New Delhi from Thursday; to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Water Resources Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and others: Andhra Pradesh CMO
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be in Delhi on Thursday and will likely meet Union Ministers Amit Shah and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the capital. According to ANI report, Jagan will likely discuss Polavaram project with Union Ministers during his two-day visit to New Delhi, starting from June 10.
According to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office, the Chief Minister will reach Delhi on Thursday morning and will return to Amaravati by Friday noon.
This will be his first visit after the Supreme Court intervened in the arrest of rebel YSRCP MP Raghuram Raju who was slapped with a sedition charge by the state government.
On December 16, 2020, Reddy met Shah at his residence and discussed various issues of state interest, including details of the Polavaram project.
The Polavaram project is an under-construction multi-purpose irrigation National project on the Godavari River in the West Godavari District and East Godavari District in the state.
On Tuesday, Reddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking intervention to incorporate the creation of basic infrastructure in greenfield colonies as part of assistance given to state governments under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Reddy, in his letter to the Prime Minister, said that in past 7 years, the Central government has sanctioned more than 3 crore houses to Andhra Pradesh with the release of Central assistance of almost Rs 3 lakh crores. He might discuss the release of funds for the irrigation project, according to PTI.
