Amaravati: The 10 pm to 6 am Covid-19 curfew will continue for some more time in Andhra Pradesh.
In the 2 Godavari districts, East and West, where the positivity rate is still over 5%, the curfew timings have been relaxed further, with the remaining 11 districts.
Shops and establishments in all districts are allowed to be opened for business from 6 am to 9 pm daily and the prohibitory orders will come into force from 10 pm.
The government has decided to enforce prohibitory orders, during curfew relaxation hours, under Section 144 CrPC stringently.
Wearing of face masks, especially in business establishments and markets, will be strictly enforced, the government said.
At a high-level review meeting on Covid-19 here on Monday (July 12), Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to ensure the coronavirus control measures were scrupulously implemented.
“Everyone in shops and business establishments, be it the staff or customers, should necessarily wear facial masks. Impose heavy fines on shopkeepers where this is violated. If required, order closure of such shops for 2-3 days,” the CM said.
A release from the CMO said a special WhatsApp number would be allotted for people to complain about mask violations.
Meanwhile India on Monday reported 37,154 new Covid-19 cases down from 41,506 cases a day earlier, according to the data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The cases came down by 4,352 as compared to Sunday.
39,649 recoveries were reported in the ;at 24 hours taking the total tally to 3,00,14,713.
724 deaths were reported on 895 Sunday compared to reported on Sunday.
Active cases in the country came down from 4,54,118 on Sunday to 4,50,899 on Monday.
Recovery rate in the country improved to 97,22 per cent.
With these additions, the total cases ever recorded have climbed to 3,08,74,376 while the total death count stands at 4,08,764.
