New Delhi: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday staged a protest after some miscreants pelted stones at his convoy. He said, “Rowdy Rajyam” is prevailing in the state.
Naidu alleged that Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) workers pelted stones at his convoy, one of which hit a party worker infuriating Naidu following which, he immediately staged a protest with other leaders on the road for about half an hour.
He decided to protest only after the party workers showed him stones hurled at them, following which he asked one of the injured activists to come forward near his vehicle and immediately staged a protest after not seeing any police deployment there.
Party state president K Atchannaidu made it clear that urban SP should give an explanation for police lapses in the meeting of a leader under the Z plus category having NSG commandos’ security. He said that the matter will be taken to the notice of the Chief Election Commission immediately.
“Today as part of election campaign former CM Chandrababu Naidu was participating in a roadshow, meanwhile, one of his followers Mohan was hit by a stone pelted by some unknown person from the crowd,” said Tirupati SP.
“Neither the VIP was hit nor his convoy, but he protested by sitting on the road for his follower,” the SP added.
Chandrababu Naidu has been campaigning in Tirupathi for the upcoming by-poll for the last few days. The rally started from the railway station, passed through Karnala Street and Beri Street, and participated in a public meeting at Krishnapuram Tana Tirupati Town, where the incident took place.
