New Delhi: Bengali television actor Pallavi Dey’s live-in partner Sagnik Chakroborty was on Tuesday arrested by police two days after Dey was found dead at her flat in the Garfa area of Kolkata.
Accusing Chakroborty of murder, Pallavi Dey’s parents had filed a police complaint. The Garfa Police reportedly interrogated Sagnik Chakroborty for hours, following which he was arrested.
Dey, who was found dead in her rented apartment, had began living with Chakroborty last month. Chakroborty was reportedly the first person who notified the police about the death.
No suicide note was found by police, however, preliminary autopsy suggested a case of suicide as there was no external injury.
Police had begun the investigation after filing a case of unnatural death, but it was later converted to a murder case following allegations by Dey’s parents.
Pallavi Dey was known for her role of Gauri in Bengali TV show ‘Mon Mane Na’. She was also seen in shows, including Ami Sirajer Begum, Resham Japi, Saraswati Prem.
