New Delhi: Terming the committee formed by the Union Railway Ministry to look into the concerns raised by the aspirants of alleged irregularities in Railway Recruitment Board’s NTPC stage 1 exam results as a “hoax”, student union AISA and other youth organisations have called for “Bihar bandh” on Friday and refused to bog down despite the formation of the committee.

On Thursday, the Bihar Mahagathbandhan which consists of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and Left parties extended their support to the bandh. Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM), which is part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, has decided to support the bandh

Congress’ Bihar unit, too, backed the protesters but stated that the bandh should be peaceful.

Here are the live updates from the Bihar Bandh:

-Citizens woke up to chanting of slogans by bandh supporters against the RRB which has conducted a staggered, and allegedly botched up selection process, the Centre which intervened not before the crisis snowballed, and the government in the state which has booked many students and teachers for the large-scale arson and vandalism that took place in the past few days.
