New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday appointed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in charge of poll-bound Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming election in 2022.
While the Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been given charge of 403-seat of Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will be heading things in pull-bound Punjab.
Pradhan’s team of deputies includes – Anurag Singh Thakur, Arjunran Meghwal, Saroj Pandey, Shobha Karandlaje, Captain Abhimanyu, Annapurna Devi and Vivek Thakur.
In the 2017 Assembly elections, the BJP won a landslide victory winning 312 Assembly seats.
The party secured a 39.67 per cent vote share in the elections for 403-member Assembly. Samajwadi Party (SP) bagged 47 seats, BSP won 19 while Congress could manage to win only seven seats.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been given charge of the upcoming assembly elections in Manipur.
Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik and Assam Minister Ashok Singhal have been appointed as the co-in charges for the same.
Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Punjab Assembly elections are scheduled to take place next year.
