A day before Sasthi, a complaint was lodged at the Lalbazar against the organisers of the Dumdum Park Bharat Chakra puja for hurting the religious sentiments by decorating the pandal with chappals. Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari had criticised the effort by the puja organisers.
Meanwhile, members of the Dum Dum Bharat Chakra Durga Puja Committee have said that the heap of slippers has been placed as an art installation to symbolise the farmers’ protests. They also pointed out that the installation has been put up at a distance from the actual pandal.
