Coronavirus Vaccination Update: India Crosses 41.5 Inoculations on July 20

New Delhi: India administered 41.5 crores vaccine doses under the National Vaccination Program till July 20, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday (July 21).

According to the data, 41,54,72,455 vaccine doses have been administered so since the start of the vaccination drive on January 20.

Out of this, 21,73,546 people were administered with the first dose in the last 24 hours with 12,51,900 people getting the second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Last month, India achieves another milestone in COVID-19 vaccination and overtakes USA in total number of coronavirus vaccine doses administered.

As the new phase of universalisation of coronavirus vaccination commenced from June 21, in a landmark achievement, 88.09 lakh vaccine doses were administered on the first day of the new phase beginning June 21.

This was also the highest single-day number of jabs in the world.

India on Wednesday reported a dip in new cases with 42,015 new infections. The tally has gone up by 12,000 cases from the previous day tally of 30,093 Covid-19 cases. The country in the last 24 hours recorded 3,998 deaths, a significant increase from 374 fatalities that were reported on Tuesday.

On the recovery front, there was a dip as 36,977 discharges were registered down from 45,254 recoveries reported on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 3,03,90,687 patients out of hospitals till date.

Active cases in the country declined on the third day too with 4,07,170 active infections from 4,06,130 cases on Tuesday.

With these additions, the total case tally has now gone up to 3,12,16,337 while the death toll now stands at 4,18,480 lives lost so far.
