New Delhi: India administered 73.8 crore vaccine doses under the National Vaccination Program till 8 am on September 12, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data.
According to the data, 73,82,07,378 crore vaccine doses were administered till September 12. While 72,86,883 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
The Indian government started its national vaccination drive on January 16, 2021.
In July, India achieved another milestone in Covid-19 vaccination and overtook the USA in a total number of coronavirus vaccine doses administered.
As the new phase of universalisation of coronavirus vaccination commenced from June 21, in a landmark achievement, 88.09 lakh vaccine doses were administered on the first day of the new phase beginning June 21.
India’s Covid-19 Tally
Recording another dip for three consecutive days, India logged 28,591 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,32,36,921 on Saturday (September 12).
The data shows that the country saw nearly 5,000 fewer cases in the last 24 hours, while the active cases declined to 3,84,921, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The death toll climbed to 4,42,655 with 338 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
The active cases comprise 1.16 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.51 per cent, the ministry said.
