Covid-19 India Update: 22,842 New Infections, Active Cases Lowest In 199 Days

New Delhi: India reported another dip in the number of infections reported in the last 24 hours as one day spike of Covid-19 cases stood at 22,842 on Sunday (Oct 3, 2021).

In another positive news, the active case tally continued to slip with 2,70,557 active infections, which according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is lowest in 199 days.

The data showed that as many as 25,930 Covid-19 patients recovered, which took the total number of recoveries in the country to 3,30,94,529 outpatients to date.

With 244 deaths in the last 24, the total death tally in the country rose to 4,48,817 mortalities till October 3, 2021.

On the Vaccination front, the country crossed the 90-crore mark till Sunday, 8 am. The total number of vaccines administered were 90,51,75,348 doses since January 16, when the national vaccination programme started. Out of these 73,76,846 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Out of 22,842 new Covid-19 cases and 244 deaths, Kerala reported 13,217 cases and 121 deaths yesterday.

Maharashtra recorded 2,696 new cases and 49 deaths in the last 24 hours, whereas, Tamil Nadu reported 1,578 new infections and 24 deaths in the same time frame.

There has been a slight spike in the national mortality rate which stand at 1.33 Per cent, while the recovery rate is at a healthy 97.87 per cent. The active case ratio is at its low at 0.8 per cent.
