New Delhi: After recording dips for five consecutive days, India logged 27,176 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,33,16,755 on Wednesday (September 15).
The data shows that the country saw more than 2,000 more cases in the last 24 hours, while the active cases declined to 3,51,087, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
The death toll climbed to 4,43,497 with 284 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
The active cases comprise 1.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.62 per cent, the ministry said.
As many as 14,30,891 tests were conducted on Monday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of Covid-19 in the country to 54,44,44,967.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.69 per cent. It has been less than 3 per cent for the last 16 days.
The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.00 per cent. It has been below three per cent for the last 82 days, according to the ministry.

With 38,012 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,25,22,171.
The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive have exceeded 75,89,12,277 crore.
Out of the 27,176 new COVID cases and 284 deaths reported in the last 24 hours in India, Kerala recorded 15,876 new cases and 129 deaths.
