New Delhi: After recording dips for five consecutive days, India logged 30,570 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,33,47,325 on Thursday (September 16).
The data shows that the country saw more than 3,000 cases more in the last 24 hours, while the active cases declined to 3,42,923, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.
The death toll climbed to 4,43,928 with 431 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
The active cases comprise 1.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.64 per cent, the ministry said.
As many as 15,79,761 tests were conducted on Wednesday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of Covid-19 in the country to 54,77,01,729.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.94 per cent. It has been less than 3 per cent for the last 17 days.
The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.93 per cent. It has been below three per cent for the last 83 days, according to the ministry.

With 38,303 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,25,60,474.
The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive have exceeded 76,57,17,137 crore.
Out of the 30,570 new COVID cases and 431 deaths reported in the last 24 hours in India, Kerala recorded 17,681 new cases and 208 deaths.
