India on Monday once again recorded a slight dip in new coronavirus cases as the country logged 42,909 new cases in the last 24 hours. Marking a slight dip from the previous day’s tally of 45,083, there were nearly 3,000 more cases on Sunday.
Of 42,909 fresh COVID infections reported in India in the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded 29,836 cases and 75 deaths yesterday.
The mortalities in the country stayed below the 500-mark, as 380 deaths were reported on Monday.
Himachal Pradesh government has announced that it has completed 100% first dose vaccination against COVID-19 for all above 18 years.
It has also claimed to be the first Indian state to achieve the milestone.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country saw 34,763 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours. While India’s Covid-19 active caseload rose to 3,76,324, according to the Union Health Ministry on August 30.
These figures took the cumulative infections to 3,27,29,793. With 380 new deaths, the death toll due to Covid-19 mounted to 4,38,210.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 51,68,87,602 samples were tested up to August 27, of which, 17,61,110 samples were tested yesterday.
Under Nationwide Vaccination Drive, 63,43,81,358 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far, while 31,14,696 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
India is seeing a surge in cases after new infections had dipped below 30,000 daily cases after 132 days on July 27.
