New Delhi: India on Wednesday reported 18,833 new cases in the last 24 hours, a slight spike from yesterday, taking the tally for the total number of cases to 3,38,71,881 on Oct 6, 2021. There was an increase of 487 cases in the last 24 hours.
As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data, the active caseload in the country stands at 2,46,687, which is a good sign as it is the lowest in 203 days, as per government data.
The active cases comprise 0.73 per cent of all the cases in India. The number of outpatient in the country also saw a healthy increase with 24,770 patients released from hospitals in the last 24 hours taking the total number of outpatients to 3,31,75,656 cases all over India on Oct 6.
The total number of mortalities in the country reached to 4,49,538 with 278 fresh deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
The recovery rate in the country is at a healthy 97.94 per cent where as the mortality rate stayed at 1.33 per cent same as yesterday.
On the vaccination from, the number of inoculations have crossed 92 crores with 92,17,65,405 doses administered since January 16, 2021.
Out of these 59,48,360 doses were administered to the beneficiaries in the last 24 hours.
The total number of samples tested across the country stood at 57,68,03,867, according to Indian Council of Medical Research data. In the last 24 hours, 14,09,825 samples were tested on Oct 5, 2021.
