Covid-19 India Update: Active Cases In Country Lowest In 539 Days

Russia’s Sputnik Light vaccine is set to be launched in India in the month of December, as per the RDIF. Russian Direct Investment Fund on Wednesday informed that Sputnik light COVID-19 vaccine will likely be launched in India by December this year.

New Delhi: India reported 9,119 new cases and 396 related deaths in the last 24 hours. India’s active caseload now stands at 1,09,94, the lowest in 539 days. Currently at 0.32%, active cases account for less than 1% of total cases. This is the lowest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate is at 0.79% and has been less than 2% for last 52 days. The weekly positivity rate is currently at 0.90%, which has been less than 2% for last 62 days.

Addressing a press conference, the CEO of Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev said, “We are hopeful for the launch of Sputnik light in India in December and we are working very well with Indian institutes.”
