New Delhi: On the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Jayanti, West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to the Central Government to Declare January 23, Netaji’s birthday as a National Holiday.
CM Mamata Banerjee points out that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary should be marked as a national holiday so that the entire nation can pay homage to the national leader on the day of his birthday and can celebrate Desh Nayak Dibas (Day of National Hero).
January 23, 2022, marks the 125th birth anniversary of an iconic freedom fighter popularly known as Netaji. Central Government to pay floral tribute to Bose in the Central Hall of the parliament today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government also decided to commence the celebrations of Republic Day from the 23rd of January to include Netaji’s birth anniversary and issued a gazetted notification as a deceleration of Parakram Diwas that would be celebrated on January 23 every year, as to pay homage to the great Indian Freedom Fighter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on January 21, that a grand statue of iconic freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed at India Gate as a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him.
Till the statue, made of granite, is completed, a hologram statue of him would be present at the same place, he said, adding that he will unveil the hologram statue on January 23, the 125th birth anniversary of the Azad Hind Fauj founder.
Commencement of Republic Day celebrations will be marked from today soon after when Prime Minister Modi will unveil the iconic Netaji’s hologram statue at India Gate.
